Amyloid-Beta 1-43 (FL) ELISA Kit (Human Specificity)

Sensitive and selective colorimetric ELISA kit to ABeta (1-43)FL with assay range 2.34 - 150 pg/ml. Highly selective to amyloid-beta 1-43 with minimal cross reactivity to other processing forms of amyloid-beta (see data below). The affinity purified polyclonal capture antibody reacts with the position 43 region and the affinity purified monoclonal-HRP detection antibody reacts with the position 1 region of ABeta 1-43. There is insignificant cross-reactivity with Abeta1-42 and Abeta 1-45. Highly validated 96T Sandwich ELISA kit.

Background on Amyloid-Beta 1-43 (FL)

Amyloid-beta (Abeta) peptides of various lenghts are processed from amyloid precursor protein (APP) cleavage by secretases. Beta-secretase cleaves an extracellular portion of APP and frees a soluble portion. Gamma-secretase cleaves APP within the transmembrane domain, creating amyloid-beta (Aβ) isoforms with lengths between 36-43 amino acid residues. The prevailing isoforms of Amyloid-Beta are Aβ₄₀ and Aβ₄₂. Aβ₄₀ is the most widespread amyloid-Beta (Aβ) isoform, while Aβ₄₂ is more fibrillogenic and is the principal Abeta peptide that has been proposed to be associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Antibodies used in this ELISA kit are selective to Aβ₄₃, with insignificant cross-reactivity to Aβ forms that do not have the C-terminus at the 43 amino acid position" i.e there is insignificant reactivity with Aβ_40,&Aβ_42.
